California Green Party Congressional Candidates and Jill Stein Will Anchor “Summit for Independent Politics” in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA – This Saturday October 27, from 2 to 6 PM, the three 2018 congressional candidates of the California Green Party, Rodolfo Cortes Barragan, Kenneth Mejia, and Laura Wells will join 2016 presidential candidate Jill Stein in headlining the Los Angeles “Summit for Independent Politics” at 1926 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles (Walter J. Tower near MacArthur Park).

The four Green Party leaders will address:

California Proposition 10 and Affordable Housing
Environmental Pollution and the Climate Crisis
Immigration Justice and Police Reform

Green Party spokesperson and summit speaker Laura Wells released the following statement on the event:

“U.S. Congressional Candidates from across the state will join together to discuss the politics of the people here in California. We will be joined by Baldwin Park mayoral candidate Emmanuel Estrada, California Assembly candidate Maria Estrada, and other local candidates. Supporting groups include Black Lives Matter, the LA Tenants Union, Our Revolution, the Green Party of California, and the Green Party of Los Angeles.

Never before have the world and its people been in more danger. Never before has there been a more crucial time for the corporate parties running our state and our nation to step back and let the people lead. That will be the subject of this Saturday’s summit.”
