Nov. 22, 2024 - Oakland, CA - Three California minor parties filed a federal lawsuit in U.S. District Court/California Northern District/Oakland Division against the California top-two system, a system which has been in existence since 2011. Peace & Freedom Party v Weber, n.d., 4:24cv-08308. The parties are Peace & Freedom, Green, and Libertarian.

Oct. 8, 2024 - Monday October 7 was the one-year mark of the most recent campaign by Israel for the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people. The U.S. government bears direct responsibility for this genocide and the horrors of this war that many people are enduring today.

The Green Party of California has taken positions on California's Statewide Ballot Propositions on the November 5 Election Ballot, following a vote by our Standing General Assembly Delegates from all active County Green Parties. Our positions must meet a 2/3 vote threshold and are done by ranked choice voting according to our bylaws.

August 17, 2024 - Dr. Jill Stein and Dr. Butch Ware win the Green Party Nomination for President and Vice President in the 2024 Election.

This bill would establish an improved Medicare-for-All type health care system in California. September 21 - Monday, September 21st marks both the 39th anniversary of the United Nations International Day of Peace and the 19th anniversary of the vote to pass the post-9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force, or AUMF. On a day dedicated to “education and public awareness on issues related to peace,” the United States Congress and the President agreed to make war the perpetual state of the country and, therefore, the world.

Green values emphasize the sanctity of life and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. Disarmament isn't just a desirable end result of these goals, it is also an important step toward attaining them.

San Francisco, CA - April 25, 2018 – The Green Party of California (GPCA) announced today that for the first time in its three decade history, it has voted to endorse candidates from other parties in statewide elections. GPCA delegates voted by a two-thirds supermajority to allow the Greens to endorse any candidates who do not accept corporate campaign contributions, and who do not belong to a political party that accepts corporate contributions.
